SPECIALTY CAFES IN POLAND

There are 300 specialty cafes in Poland, serving coffee from craft roasteries and brewed using alternative methods, such as pour-over coffee or aeropress - informed the creators of the Cofee spots Polska guide. This is almost twice as much as in 2018, and according to the authors, this segment is constantly developing.Among the surveyed cafes, all of them offer alternatives to animal milk (oat milk is the most popular), while 21 percent of the cafes serve them with coffee at no extra charge. A noticeable trend is also the move away from manual methods of preparing coffee in favor of automatic coffee machines, the pour over coffee makers (86.5% of cafes in the guide serve such coffee). This form allows you to save employees' time and costs compared to electric coffee machines. The previous edition of the guide was published in 2018, and since then 200 new specialty cafes have been established, 25% of them operates in Warsaw. According to the co-author, these cafes have become not only a form of pursuing one's passion, but also a business, and with greater financial capital comes greater development opportunities for the industry. For example, 25 percent of cafes described in the guide roast their own coffee. (ICE VARSAVIA)
