Kazakhstan to expand railway equippemnt supplies to TajikistanKazakhstan aims to enhance its railway equipment supplies to Tajikistan, as stated by the press service of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov following talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe.“The Aktobe plant is prepared to supply rail and beam products,” a statement released on Tuesday reveals.Additionally, there is potential to increase exports of various items like locomotives, diesel locomotives, turnouts, transformers, agricultural machinery, batteries, and vehicles manufactured in Kazakhstan.Trade turnover between the two countries decreased by 18% to $1.15 billion in 2023. This has led to Kazakhstan's commitment to bolster exports to Tajikistan across 85 commodity items valued at around $190 million.Aktobe Rail and Beam Plant LLP boasts a production capacity of 430,000 tonnes, comprising 200,000 tonnes of rails and 230,000 tonnes of shaped rolled products. Globally ranking third and the sole plant within the Eurasian Economic Union to produce new generation rails up to 120 meters in length, it can meet both domestic and export demands. (ICE ALMATY)
