GHANA: RECORDED INCREASE IN COCOA EXPORTS

Accra – The commercialization of cocoa in Ghana is experiencing a good moment. In its latest report on the global cocoa bean market, the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO) reports that arrivals of graded and sealed (G&S) cocoa reached 566,846 tonnes as of March 9 this year, for the 2022 intermediate season. /2023, started last October. The reported volume is 18% higher than the stock valued one year earlier as of the same date.Overall, the ICCO estimates that Ghana's performance helped offset the decline on the Ivorian side. In total, the two world supply leaders will have recorded cocoa arrivals of around 2.35 million tonnes in the first half of the 2022/2023 season, virtually unchanged from year to year.As the intermediate season progresses, many observers expect a recovery in arrivals on the Ivorian side and a continuation of the positive trend in Ghana.
