MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE DESCRIBES THE POTENTIAL OF CORN AND OPTIMIZATION OF harvest management

The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia has requested that corn farmers optimize harvest management due to the high potential of processed corn products. The Ministry of Agriculture is pursuing corn self-sufficiency in 2024 due to increasing national demand and needs for consumption, animal feed, and the food and beverage industry. The concept of corn estates is attractive, and investors are encouraged to invest in the country. Indonesia's large land potential and climate forces support this goal. The peak corn harvest occurs in February–March, and stock management should be in place to ensure production drops can be sold. The Ministry hopes that Indonesia can become self-sufficient in corn and even become a corn barn in Southeast Asia. In 2023, 87 feed mill centers in Indonesia will need corn as one of their raw materials. The General Chairperson of the Corn Agribusiness Society, Eman Suryaman, hopes that corn and its derivative products can become staple foods again, as they can be planted in all land conditions. Corn production in Indonesia is abundant and can meet national needs without imports.Link di fonte: https://www.antaranews.com/berita/3641448/kementan-paparkan-potensi-jagung-dan-optimalisasi-manajemen-panen (ICE GIACARTA)
