Association of oil companies created in KazakhstanIndependent oil producing and oil refining companies of Kazakhstan have created their professional association called PetroMining, the new organization said in a press release on Wednesday.“PetroMining Association will represent, promote and protect the interests of independent mineral resource companies, mainly oil producing and oil refining companies. We are not seeking any sort of protectionism but would like all players of the market to be able to enjoy transparent, fair and equal conditions, allowing them to develop and work effectively. One company may not be heard but a whole association will be," Sayat Boranbekov, the head of the Association, is quoted as saying.According to PetroMining, there are over 75 private oil companies operating in Kazakhstan, accounting for about 20% of the country's total oil production and 17% of oil exports.In early August, PetroMining Association will hold its first congress, which is expected to discuss existing problems and develop proposals that will be submitted to the government for consideration.
