ADNOC TO AWARD CONTRACT FOR OIL PIPELINE PROJECT

The Abu Dhabi energy giant plans to build a pipeline to transport crude oil from Jebel Dhanna in Abu Dhabi to its oil terminal in Fujairah.Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is preparing to award the main contract for a project to build a west-to-east pipeline to transport crude oil produced in Abu Dhabi to the UAE’s northern emirate of Fujairah.  Egyptian contractor Engineering for Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi) is in line to win the project’s engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract, according to sources.  Adnoc’s total spend on the EPCm works on the west-to-east crude oil pipeline project could be as high as $3bn.  Enppi was the lowest bidder for Adnoc’s west-to-east crude oil pipeline project.Adnoc began the main contract tendering process for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works on the pipeline project last year.Contractors submitted technical bids in August 2022,  Adnoc cancelled the tendering process following the submission of bids by contractors “presumably due to a change in the project’s objectives”, A new tender for the west-to-east crude pipeline project was issued in July, according to sources. Revised commercial proposals were submitted in August.  Enppi emerged as the lowest bidder following the evaluation of revised prices by contractors. The sources added that China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Company (CPECC) emerged as the second-lowest bidder for the project. (ICE DUBAI)
