CAMBODIA, MALAYSIA AGREE TO FURTHER BOLSTER ECONOMIC TIES

Cambodia and Malaysia have agreed to strengthen economic cooperation and consider establishing a joint trade committee to boost trade and economic relations. The two leaders discussed various cooperation opportunities, including enhancing trade and economy. They emphasized the potential for increased private sector involvement in economic collaborations and development initiatives. They also discussed the potential for boosting trade volume and collaboration in research, investment, Halal industry, renewable energy, and high-tech industries. They also agreed to expand air routes and call for Malaysian investors to consider investment opportunities in Cambodia. Bilateral trade between the two countries reached $632 million in 2023, a 1.9% increase from the previous year. Cambodia exported goods worth $105 million to Malaysia, while Malaysia imported goods worth $105 million. (ICE BANGKOK)
