INNOVATIVE PROJECTS FOR CITIES OF FUTURE HIGHLIGHTED

A number of sustainable technologies and innovative projects for cities of the future were highlighted by government agencies and private authorities at a key forum yesterday.The two-day Bahrain Smart Cities Summit aims to promote and encourage collaboration between major stakeholders and industry experts to create tools that will not only make cities smarter for its citizens but also significantly improve their liveability.The summit explores the latest trends in smart city technologies, driving progress towards more sustainable and liveable cities. It will also offer ample opportunities for networking and collaboration with some of the brightest talents the industry has to offer.More than 800 delegates and 70 experts from across the globe have taken part in the conference over the last five years. A total of 120 presentations and case studies have also been made.Panel discussions were held yesterday on Bahrain’s vision for its smart cities, sustainable government projects in Salman City, use of artificial intelligence in electronic fraud, and regulation of AI in Bahrain.Private and government agencies including the Interior Ministry, Municipality Affairs and Agriculture Ministry, Electricity and Water Authority, and the Information and eGovernment Authority have put up stalls at the event.Today is the final day of the conference which will include talks on smart meters, waste management, the Bahrain smart grid, as well as a series of presentations on smart and sustainable city projects in Bahrain.
