CAMBODIA’S EXPORTS ON THE RISE DESPITE WEAKENING GLOBAL DEMAND, SAYS MOC

Cambodia's exports reached $1,967 million in January 2024, a 27% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to a Ministry of Commerce report. Despite the war crisis and slowdown in global demand, Cambodian orders remained high, with volumes remaining unchanged. The country's trade with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) members, which includes 15 Asia-Pacific countries, accounted for 67.6% of the country's total trade of $4.05 billion in January 2022. The RCEP agreement eliminates up to 90% of tariffs on goods traded among its signatories over the next 20 years. (ICE BANGKOK)
