IRAN, TURKIYE DISCUSS PLANS FOR EXPANSION OF BILATERAL TRADE

Customs chiefs of Iran and Turkiye have had a meeting where they reviewed plans for facilitating trade between the two neighboring countries.In a meeting in Turkiye on Sunday, Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Mohammad Rezvanifar and his Turkish counterpart Sezai Ucarmak followed up the agreements already signed between the two countries, as well as new operational plans.Rezvanifar, who is also the deputy Iranian minister of economy, said that 9% of Iranian exports are bound for Turkiye and Iran is the destination for 12% of the Turkish exports which he said requires new plans and agreements between Tehran and Ankara.He underlined the need for regular meetings on the joint borders to facilitate trade and help the easy transit of trucks from one country into another.
