THE IMF EXPECTS UKRAINE'S GDP TO GROW BY 3.2% THIS YEAR.

Next year, Ukraine's GDP growth will be 6.5%, according to the World Economic Outlook report. According to the IMF forecast, consumer inflation in Ukraine will decrease from 12.9% in 2023 to 6.4% in the current year and 7.6% in 2025. During a working visit to Washington, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, held a series of meetings with IMF management and the European Commission at the spring meetings between the IMF and the World Bank, where he discussed urgent budgetary needs. He noted that Ukraine’s government expects to successfully complete three more revisions within the framework of the EFF program this year and attract $4.5B in budget support. Marchenko added that since the start of the war, Ukraine has received more than €30B in macro-financial assistance from the EU. "In March 2024, the EU allocated €4.5B in preferential funds to Ukraine, and the next tranche of €1.5B is expected in April," the Minister of Finance said. (ICE LEOPOLI)
