KUWAIT ISSUES SOUTH SABAH AL AHMED PROJECT TENDER

Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare has issued a tender inviting contractors to submit bids for the infrastructure development at its South Sabah Al Ahmed township project in Kuwait's Al Asimah Governorate.The contract covers the infrastructure works for 6,568 residential units in neighbourhoods including N1, N2, N3 and N11.The tender was issued on 31 March and the deadline for bid submission is 16 May.UK-based Foster + Partners designed the masterplan for the South Sabah Al Ahmad township project. The scheme includes constructing a residential development containing over 11,000 housing units.The South Sabah Al Ahmad project covers an area of 6,150 hectares and is located 70 kilometres south of Kuwait.In March, the lowest bidders emerged for two roads and infrastructure network contracts for the South Sabah Al Ahmed township project in Kuwait's Al Asimah Governorate.Beijing-headquartered China State Construction Engineering Corporation emerged as the lowest bidder for the roads and infrastructure networks for 7,623 residential units (N5, N7, N9, N10).Another Chinese company Sinohydro Corporation submitted the lowest bid for the roads and infrastructure networks for 6,189 residential units (N4, N6, N8).In July last year, the local contractor Kuwait Arab Contractors Company (KACC) had started construction on infrastructure works at South Sabah Al Ahmad City in Kuwait.The contract, which was awarded in March last year, covers the construction of roads, utility services networks, rainwater tanks, freshwater networks, saline water networks, and associated facilities.
