UKRAINE-GERMANY TALKS: INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES, ENERGY AND RECONSTRUCTION.

The Vice Chancellor of Germany arrived in Kyiv and discussed investments, reconstruction, and defense projects. On April 18, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko met with Vice-Chancellor of Germany Robert Habeck, who arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit. Svyridenko presented Ukraine’s urgent need for energy and investment opportunities in key economic sectors, including defense, to the German delegation. She said, “Ukraine has more than 200 promising projects in the energy sector, totaling $60B.” Particular attention was paid to the development of distributed energy generation in Ukraine, and the possibilities of using German and Ukrainian components to build such systems were discussed. Habeck assures that German companies will be ready to participate immediately in rebuilding Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As the minister confirmed, 73 promising projects worth $2.7B were presented in the transport and logistics sectors, and 80 projects worth $2.9B in the processing field. The parties also discussed the prospects of involving German businesses in increasing the production and processing of lithium, graphite, titanium, nickel, and other critical materials. Along with the production of green steel, 55 projects worth $8.2B are in these sectors. (ICE LEOPOLI)
