Kazakhstan to build 111 mln sq. m of housing by 2030Kazakhstan plans to build 111 million sq. m of housing by 2030, which will accommodate over one million families, Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev said.“By 2030, we plan to build 111 million square meters of housing, using all sources of financing, as a result of which, new housing will be provided to more than one million families,” Sharlapayev said at a Tuesday meeting of the government.In order to support economic growth, the volume of commissioned housing was increased in 2024 to 18 from 15.5 million sq. m, and the government introduced additional measures to provide housing for the population, he added.Furthermore, the government will purchase over 22,000 residential apartments for a total value of 339 billion tenge, which will be offered for rent to families from the vulnerable groups of the population. Also, using 110 billion tenge that was raised through bond issue by the local administrations, the authorities will build 10,000 residential apartments for rent, according to Sharlapayev.This year, Kazakhstan is going to spend over 1 trillion tenge on housing construction, he added.
