The Saudi branch of Shanghai-headquartered Geoharbour Group has completed the first phase of the foundation works on the Jeddah Central stadium project in Saudi Arabia. Beijing-headquartered China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), which won the main contract for the project in December last year in partnership with the local Sama Construction for Trading & Contracting, appointed Geoharbour for the foundation works package. The construction of the stadium is expected to be completed by 2026. The stadium will have the capacity to accommodate 46,000 spectators. The structure will have seven floors above ground, two underground floors, air conditioning and moveable roof systems powered by solar energy. The design contract was awarded to German architectural firm GMP International in 2022. Khatib & Alami won the engineering contract. Jeddah Central is being developed on a 5.7 square-kilometre site and will comprise 17,000 residential units and 2,700 hotel keys, as well as an opera house, a museum, a sports stadium and an oceanarium.    For registration as supplier: https://www.jeddahcentral.com/suppliers (ICE RIYADH)
