According to Central Statistical Office (GUS) data, in Poland there are 2.3 million persons with a certificate of disability, of whom ca. 61,000 are registered with labour offices. The data also show that in H1, 2023 the rate of employment of people with disabilities stood at 31.2 % on average, 1 % more than a year earlier. Meanwhile, according to European Commission figures, in 2020 the employment rate of people with disabilities was at 50.7 % in the EU, however, the GUS and the EC use different methodologies to calculate the rate and they focus on different age groups.
